Call for Proposals

The Social Science Research Institute (SSRI) is pleased to provide seed grants in the 2013-2014 academic year to the Center for Brain, Behavior, and Cognition (CBBC) using existing SSRI funding mechanisms. This SSRI-CBBC initiative will support projects aimed at integrating neuroscience research that bridges between the social/behavioral and the biological/life sciences. Priorities of funding will be given to projects that are highly interdisciplinary, synergistic, and have the potential to attract external funding. Ideally the research team should consist of a member from the social sciences and a member from the biological and life sciences, although the nature of the proposal (including its potential to attract extramural funding) is more important than the membership of the team for the evaluation of the proposal.

The application and review processes will follow the guidelines specified by the SSRI. For details, including application materials, please see:

An Annual Report and a Final Project Report will be required of PIs of all awarded proposals, to be submitted to the SSRI Steering Committee and the CBBC Co-Directors. All awarded projects are expected to advance to the stage of an external research proposal, among other outputs, by the end of the funding period.

All active CBBC members are encouraged to apply.
